Today, for Christmas, my father offered me the camera mostly used by his grandfather.

It is a Verascope Richard, made in 1913, with Tessar Zeiss f55 stereoscopic lenses. In an advertisement found on the net, it was written:

” recommended for travels in the colonies and hot and humid countries”.

My grandfather never traveled very far. He was a scientist and his passion was photography. In the following picture, he made a photo of himself, with this camera, in front of the pharmacy of my grandparents, in Mazargues (a place in Marseilles) the days surrounding my father’s birth.

La passion du Christ

Filed under: Panama — Philippe @ 11:56 pm

I wonder what the kids looking at this composition (a painting on the wall and a statue of the Christ tired and suffering carrying its cross) are thinking every Sunday when going to mass, and later in the afternoon plunging in their Wii mass murdering electronic games ?
